About Mr. G

Shane Grundy has been a Grade Six teacher with Edmonton Public Schools since 1998. Previously at Meyokumin School, Shane had been working as the technology coordinator for the school and he has been responsible for the integration of many new technologies into the classroom – from new software, web 2.0 technologies, and even video conferencing. Now he’s graduated to Highlands Jr. High, still working with technology in the 1 to 1 wireless project, but also teaching the humanities in a special needs environment.
On a district level, Shane is also a member of Alberta’s Telus Lead Teacher team, helping other teachers and schools find new ways to integrate the use of technology into their current programs. In December 2006 he was honoured to receive the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence – Certificate of Achievement.
Also in 2006 Shane and his wife Lana became the proud parents of Shevaun Mae – and haven’t slept a moment since.
